How it all began 05/09/24 In April, 2018, I woke up to a gentle rain and felt strangely on edge – yet excited and invigorated. I grabbed a note pad and pencil and went back to bed. I had this idea in my head about a generous magpie who finds stuff for her friends, but she gets everything wrong – there's some confusion caused by homonyms. I sketched it out and realized that I could illustrate the animal characters using found objects. I could move the parts around to form different poses. It took me a year to finally finish my first picture book, "Gifts of the Magpie." The following year, Capstone published "Tag and the Magic Squeaker." Both available at Amazon.
